Welcome to the outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.

[At least he's had a look around. Tinkered with some things. It won't take long for his genius to be noticed around here, or for him to get some lame tech job long enough to climb the ranks. Steve just looks like a lost puppy. A very unamused, irritated lost puppy. Tony sighs.]

[Her mouth opens and closes again, not unlike a fish, and when he crushes her to him her knees threaten to buckle. Oh Maker, he's real. He's as real as she is. And this might be some horrible dream or nightmare but she doesn't care. For the first time since she discovered she had magic, she throws caution to the wind and wraps her arms around him in a tight embrace.]

I think how Mother feels about this is the least of our concerns right now.

[She pulls away to look up at him.]

[What exactly do you expect him to do about it? Steve only knows the bare minimum about technology in their time. He's smart but he's not going to learn this stuff overnight and he doesn't fancy beating people up for money either.

Not everyone can just be lackadaisical when it comes to showing up on an alien space station, Tony.]

No, I haven't. [He frowns.] Do you think Loki caused this?

[all she can do is roll her eyes, staring down into her omni-tool with as much disdain as she can muster. (it isn't very much, admittedly, because this is her baby sister and she can never stay mad at her for very long.] You need to be careful on Omega. I can't bail you out if you piss off a Batarian.

[To be perfectly honest, Iskierka isn't terribly aware of the finer details of her physiology either, and she's perhaps the one person it would be most important to. Admittedly, she probably also isn't really certain about what a physiology is, but that's largely besides the point.

She doesn't exactly answer either. Not directly anyway. She does, however, crane her head to peer over at Chuck, with an expression that manages to quite excellently imply that she's perfectly willing to listen to whatever happens to come next.]

[People about the marketplace at the moment may notice a small, globular, orange figure hanging around, occasionally dashing out of sight carrying various items in all four of its fists. It's glowing strangely and despite its skin having the appearance of texture, it almost looks like a hard light hologram.

Most of the things its collecting are just trash, but sometimes they're things snuck from stalls or even other people's pockets. It always heads back to the same corner once it has picked up all it can carry.]

[ that is some awkward exchange there between the strange man and the even stranger alien. as he runs (yes, run!) toward her, she reaches out to steady him before he knocks them both on to the ground. ]

It's alright. [ she shoots the offending stall a look. ] I saw what happened.

Either you smell like roses and sunshine, or he has a rather personal way of saying hello. I think I'll take my chances else where.

[Why do people keep trying to point guns at me? ]

[Akin takes a posture that, for humans, would convey non-threatening body language, though he doesn't know if the alien will read it the same way.]

I'm Oankali. We're... not from around here. I'm not really sure how I got here at all.

[Well, technically an Oankali-human construct, but Oankali covered it. Akin could also describe himself as human, but he knew most humans without Oankali genes wouldn't agree, and he'd assume that the alien wouldn't either.]

[Peter shakes his head, pursing his lips together as he thinks]

Not anyone I know, uh well I did run into Tony Stark but that's more of a... well your acquaintance than mine.

[Okay that was a lot of references all at once!]

[Akin is good with body language. Including figuring out that, hey, those guys are probably violent and this guy is asking for help, even if he's not saying so. So he approaches]

I'm not interrupting something important am I?

[This would be one of those times when he wished he took more after human males than Oankali. He could look confident, and he knew how to defend himself, but he knew humans (and probably other species) set some store in physical height and bulk.]

[ She's quick to thrust a hand out, straightening and shuffling out of the way of anyone brushing passed. None of them are exactly friendly around here, she's noted. ]

[ now there is a voice she has not heard in a while! andraste's tits, the man hasn't changed a bit. how completely unfair. she puts on an amused smile as she looks over at him. ]

I don't know, you might resemble her if you grow out your hair some.

[ oho, a smirk replaces her smile. ]

It might just be the entire treasury. But I see a woeful lack of mules here. Are you volunteering?

[ A single, unimpressed, scarred eyebrow arches as the pistol comes level with her eyes. She's not the least bit worried about Erik shooting her. Maybe she should be, considering there are definitely several instances it would happen in, but she'd react about the same then. If she's going to get shot point blank by anyone, she'll be giving them the 'you are less than dirt to me' look. ] Do you even know where the safety is on that? And 50 credits says you wouldn't know a thermal clip if someone shoved it up your ass.

[ Besides, she knows Eric and she knows what he can do. Just like she can mind blast that pistol out of his hand the second he tries to fire it, he doesn't need a gun to kill her. So she reaches a hand forward and switches the safety off for him before walking past, towards the market district, checking his shoulder with hers as she passes. ] Then you've got about 6 shots until you have to beg me to show you how to reload.

[ Walking past, she speaks over her shoulder to him. ] You're gonna want it. Wander into the wrong alley here and you'll get your pretty face shot off.

[ She turns back to him for a moment, walking backways, and gives a snide smirk. ] Not all ammo's metal here.

I'm not even sorry for this icon.

[ Excuse her while she totally brings a finger up and holds it under her nose like a pretend mustache. It's really a pity she doesn't have one of those inside of finger mustache tattoos. ]

[He's quick to apologize before he's shaking her hand too, nodding along with it.]

[A Sith Lord emerges out of the many shadows around Omega's Landing Bay. He despises his current lack of information, just as he loathes having to seek out others to learn more as though he were a supplicant. Count Dooku is master of armies and of planets. Beings come to him, orbiting his power. On Omega, his titles are meaningless. The Director is not the only one seething with concealed frustration.]

You are also not from this station. [His deep, bass voice has more confidence than anyone with so many questions ought to have.]

[Enter Steve, literally from another world but also the man well out of time at this point. He almost feels better that other people are out of their element here too. It's not like suddenly being the only one from the forties strolling up and down the street.

Of course, that's not helping him now. His roommate and teammate is gone doing who knows what--probably seeing what he can take apart somewhere--and that leaves him with a problem.

The door.

He's standing outside in full Captain America regalia--minus the cowl and with his shield slung over his back--because some people can't afford shiny new, less stars and stripes looking armor. Yet. It's a thing he's working on. Right after he figures out the door. It's sliding harmlessly open and closed in front of him because it obviously senses him standing there. He can honestly say he never expected to be taunted by a door.

Steve is staring at it like he could just will it locked with his mind. Surprisingly, this method isn't working. What's wrong with just having a key? Why make it all fancy and electronic? It seems superfluous and pointless.

He catches sight of Shepard and determines from the uniform she might actually be from around here.]

Excuse me, Ma'am?

[Oh, yeah. The fact her name sounds like 'maybe' comes with a small smirk. And, now, time to try the time that always manages to fool the self-absorbed and idiotic]

And kiddo? Marry me. Or tip my plastic surgeon.

[Well. Alright. That's good enough for Maeby, whose survival skills end right about the point that it becomes annoying to use them.]

That doesn't even start to cover it. What- are you, like, the truancy officer or something?

[Oh good, people are associating him with Tony. Just what he wants except not, not when he doesn't think the man believes in their team.]

Yeah, we've spoken. [Steve concedes with a frown--there had been minor insults exchanged. They aren't exactly best buds.] He's going to get himself into trouble.

[Which will somehow end up Steve's problem, just you wait and see.]

[Maeby looks at him with a sheer expression of concern for a moment- then shrugs. Okay. Maybe. Too bad the way she goes about it is to start hitting the machine. First on the side. Then the top. Then the other side.]
