Welcome to the outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.


Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.

Man, if I was lying, you'd know it. Not exactly my my forté. And trust me, I'd give my left eye for this to all be a bad trip.

[ But it doesn't look like she's making much of a dent in his formidable (and understanding) skepticism. York shrugs, pulling away form the wall. ]

But the more I insist on it, the crazier I sound to you, am I right? Doesn't really matter if you believe it or not, anyway, 'cause it doesn't change much.

[ For someone spouting what sounds like a whole host paranoid delusions, she seems pretty calm about the fact, and not too desperate to convince him otherwise. She might not like it, but she's evidently pretty confident in her own reality. And she gives him a sheepish half-grin, raising an eyebrow hopefully. ]

Could still use some directions, though?

[He's been avoiding eye contact with most people. And Aliens. Okay. Mostly the Aliens.]

Someone must have one, if we could find someone in charge or something.

[He takes a few quick steps to catch up, not wanting to lose her in the crowd.]

Probably. So far, she's been a great boost to civilian morale and hasn't pushed any boundaries.

[propping her chin on one hand, one eyebrow lifted, she continues:]

Though honestly, Joker? If she hasn't put it together just by poking around the ship, you get a medal.

He's a diva. [Steve mutters, remembering Tony's little speech.] You're right. He wants an audience. I don't think he'd wait this long to show himself to a willing one.

[He frowns as he glances around the markets and then he shoots Tony a look. The scathing Captain America thinks you should shut up now look.]

I noticed. You think there's something to it? [He also sighs and shakes his head.] And you shouldn't refer to them that way. They're people too, Tony. We're just as strange to them.

The Batarian? Wait— don't tell me being called a 'blight on galactic purity' isn't his way of making friends.

[ his mouth twitches as he holds back a smile; it's a terrible time to crack a joke, but he can't help it. ]

You're the first so far; I considered checking Afterlife for Joker and the rest, but I thought I might have better luck out here. Guess my gut instinct was right.

[It's all incredibly fascinating to a scientist whose specialty is genetics and biology. His job is figuring out how living things work and go together. He also loves it; he lives for it.

1809? Considerably later now. Currently 2186. Uncertain of conversion however. Believe Earth used different standard of measure before arriving at Citadel. Now use Common Era units of measure acquired from interaction with Council races.

Batarians... is that what they are? [She looked thoughtful for a second, curious, but then shook her head.] Sorry. New girl in town. ... Um, station.

[But she smiles slightly.] So what, is dodging a tab harder here?

[.. welp. okay. so he'd been expecting the guy that was pretty much his best friend in the entire project to turn around and greet him, but when he sees that face -

okay. so he should have been more attentive and noticed all that hair. but he has to say that he'd been so pleased to see that flash of tan armor that meant he had another friend here, well .. maybe his excitement had gotten the better of him.

in the back of his mind, theta is practically fidgeting. north .. north, is that york? but isn't he supposed to be .. male?

[The familiar voice has Shepard looking away from his shotgun for a moment. At the sight of the Primarch, his poker face mellows a bit as stands a bit straighter.]

I could say the same thing about you, Primarch. Hopefully you're at least getting better treatment?

York catches herself with a sort of sheepish laugh, shaking her head. ]

Yeah, it's definitely me. Let me guess -- you knew me as a guy, right? Man, every time, I swear.

Re: Master Chief | Halo | Landing Zone

[Cyborg Super-Soldier, meet Cyborg Zombie Super-Soldier.]

[The Chief's imposing figure would probably make most people uneasy, but Shepard isn't most people. After all, he's pretty imposing himself, at least in this universe to the people who know of him, and who doesn't?

Shepard is leaning up against a shuttle and watching most of the new arrivals as the Chief strides past. The way he walks is what finally makes Shepard speak up.]

Been here before?

[she takes a moment to wait and then they're walking side by side, trying to steer clear of everyone. except mostly aliens yes.]

From my experience, finding the person in charge is probably one of the hardest things to do. [a nervous laugh]

[She took a step forward when he stumbled; there for support if he wanted it, but not about to force him to take it. There if he needed her, as she so often was.]

[Tony doesn't remember that speech, but he rolls with it anyway. Unfortunately, the whole reason for their serious conversation is flying right out the window thanks to Tony. Surprise.]

Apparently not, considering that chick over there practically has her tongue down that bird's throat. [Because in Omega there is no shortage of couples over in far corners or holding hands or... other... nondescript things.] That is a bird, right? They look like birds to me, only with razor sharp daggers for teeth and tattoos all over. That's weird, you have to give me that one.

[it's not like Hawke's ever had a chance to stop Isabela from getting in trouble though. it just comes to her, like a song to a bard. trouble is her middle name...if she had a middle name.

she takes a long look at the card before her dirty fingers take the credit chit from Hawke, turning it in her hand.]

Soooo...[she purses her lips] how do you know if this has any money on it?

[nevermind the fact that she's also wondering HOW THE FUCK IT WORKS she waves it playfully at Hawke]

[she knows a guy who makes nicknames his business, so it won't come to a surprise when she hears that she's been given another. she's had plenty of names, Isabela's not even her ~true~ name.]

So I can tell. Not my choice coming here, but if it truly is the shithole you say it is, then I'll fit right on in.

That's certainly a weighted question to ask a pirate.

[While before his movements had been nervous, almost jerky because of nervousness and sheer 'where the heck am I?!' but now they're more sure and when she mentions the market, he's finding the map on the tool and pulling it up]

[ Zoe can't help the laugh that bubbles up, eyebrows rising. ]

I don't think Omega even has schools. I'm an N7.

[ She says the last part with a measure of pride, expecting it to be recognized. The title's new enough that Zoe's getting used to it herself, but she can't say she minds the looks she gets. ]

Hey, no time like the present!

[ Zoe smiles back, but even she can't hide the fact that it's somewhat forced. She doesn't like the idea that they've been whisked across the galaxy without warning, and though she usually tries to keep up a brave face, this is a little much. ]

--D'ya think everyone else is okay?

I'm an army commander, what else did you think I was? Now stay still and stop fidgeting, I'm not going to hurt you!

[No, she isn't sick, but she was still babbling. Maybe the shock of ending up in this place had gotten to her? She seemed a mess; Xiahou Dun could in no good conscience leave her to her own devices. Some of the guards here, especially the big ugly brutes, were not kind to the newcomers, and if she kept grabbing people this way she'd get into trouble eventually.

It is important to get back home. But perhaps he could spare a minute or two to help her out. Besides, her questions (Who, What, Where, When and How) were ones relevant to his own search for a way out. By helping her, he could help himself. It's a win-win situation.]

You're obviously hopeless at this. Go sit over there at that corner and wait for me, understand?

[He points at a relatively quiet corner with fewer shady characters around.]

Don't touch or speak to anyone. When I get back, I'll have your answers.

[Xiahou Dun started; what was that at the corner of his eye? Turning to look at this, this thing that was scurrying off with objects from all around, he finds himself curious enough to follow it, just to see what it was exactly doing.]

[ Wash looks up, and-- well, keeps looking up. He doesn't recognize the armor on first glance, but he'd seen enough Spartans on Sacrosanct to know what he's looking at.

Wash takes a step back, not wanting to get in the guy's space, and stands up a measure straighter, keeping his expression as calm as he can. ]

Formerly. Spartan?

Aw, come on. What's a batarian gonna do to me, Benj?

[ Zoe scoffs at the very idea of a batarian getting the best of her. She'd kick its ass from one end of Omega to the other. ]

Uh.. yeah. Well it was only a theory till you guys had your big fight in New York.

[He rocks on his heels, glancing away from the Captain to look around at all the aliens with a brief bit of curiosity]

I mean if someone managed to open an Einstein-Rosen Bridge, which- well I can't say impossible because we're here but-... yeah.
