Welcome to the outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.

[What...what on earth was that!? It didn't look like any of the other aliens he has seen, but it's still not human. In face, it looks more like a demon from Hell. Unsure as to what exactly this thing can do, whether it's hostile or not, Dun steps forward with one hand on the hilt of his sword.]

I don't think those things belong to you.

[To be honest, Xiahou Dun isn't the best at making first good impressions either. But he can be civil if need be, and this looks like one of those times.]

Fine. Just don't get in my way and let me do all the talking.

[With a small "hmph", he takes a look around them, trying to find someone willing enough to answer a question or two. Or at least, someone he could intimidate into doing so. Perhaps this small, chubby thing in a suit that had walked up to him and was now trying to sell him some weird instrument. He could care less about upgrades to whatever an Omni-tool is, but at least the Volus was a native who could actually speak and not just grunt or growl at him. To Dun's credit, he started out just asking simple questions. It was clearly the Volus's fault for trying to charge him for answers. That's what Dun thinks anyway, as he dangles the pudgy being by one foot and starts shaking him.]

[a tutorial? if only she had been that lucky, then and now.

after seeing everything under the sun and more, nothing much surprised her. but she hasn't witnessed something like an omni-tool. the holograms she saw were used simply, like roxas had said]

Me either. I didn't know they could be used like that.

Well, only one way to find out.

[she waves her hand over her head]

Heyyy! Excuse me! [being called at just seems to make the human run faster, it never meant good things on Omega to be noticed. Ino frowns and fists her hands against her hips]

Hey! I'm talking to you!

Geez, talk about rude.

Something like that. In fact, I'm not sure how my place and time connects to this one at all. I wasn't expecting to find humans in a place like this. Maybe after centuries...

[After all, when the Cold War ended in Akin's world with a massive nuclear exchange that would have wiped out humanity had it not attracted curious aliens, seeing humans as a technological civilization is a bit surprising. And fascinating.]

[She follows Dun around, managing to keep her hands to herself, but still staring perhaps a little too long at all of the aliens around her. Once he stops at the unsuspecting volus, however, LB stares at the thing with a sense of wonderment.

It was almost cute, in a way, as it somewhat resembled an over-sized toy. Was that an actual, living being in there? Or was it merely a little robot?

Regardless, the Beauty was a shady person herself, so she didn't take issue to the rough tactics that Dun used on the little merchant. In fact, she leans down, pivots her head to try to look at the creature from an upside-down perspective, and stares curiously.]

What's an "omni-tool" anyway? Eeheehee? [It's unclear if she was asking the volus or Dun the question, but perhaps both, since she didn't quite grasp that her temporary traveling companion was from an era far before hers.] Sounds useful.

That one's easy-- just keep walking anywhere and you'll run into one in a few minutes or so.

Now, finding one that doesn't hate humans is a different story. I suggest keeping away from anywhere that has a decently high batarian customer ratio.

[Okay back up, he's just noticed the time clashes here]

I think we're experiencing a time paradox too, which is freaky but yeah you had a pretty big fight in New York... like huge. Flying alien armies, the national guard was called in..

[He gestures to make a point, one hand going out. Really it made his little skuffle with Dr Connors look like nothing in comparison]

[Alas, in a galaxy where omni-tools translate everything, it doesn't amount to much.]

[Garrus' eyes narrow, and he lowers his gun, only slightly. Having a name helps.]

'Oankali' isn't exactly something that rings a bell. Does the Council know about you?

I don't know. I don't know about this Council.

[Her shoulders instantly go down. Interest level: plummeting]

Well, that's a buzz kill. You can just go to the shady back alley doctor for that.

[But, hey, whatever. She goes to try and thread her arms through his anyway.]

But I'll take it. Earth buddies! You can help me find a way out of this bad Sci Fi special.

[Complete blank look of non-recognition, that's about the only way to describe Maeby's face at that.]

Are we just making up job titles to scam people now? Because, from one professional to another, you have to start with acronyms that could actually spell something. Like TBD.

No. I was entering one of our shuttles, and suddenly I was on an alien shuttle bound here.

[oh come on, sweetness, give her that smirk. she knows you have it in you.]

Men do love lying to a pretty face. But you associate yourself with lying scum of the earth like me and Varric. Surely you'd be able to tell.

[she continues to fiddle with the chit, not liking it one bit. nothing beat something good and solid like coin in your hand, this was too...technical for her. it didn't feel right, it didn't feel satisfying. but money is money and it's what makes men and women sing like larks.

she raises her eyebrows at Hawke, feigning innocence.]

Are you suggesting I should steal? I'm supposed to be the bad influence here, not you.

Someone as cute as you? Nah, I can't believe that. Omega's for lowlifes and people loco enough to chase after 'em. Aria might pretend that she's got a kingdom here, but it's really just a trash heap.

[oh look, tequila shots. He lifts his for a toast.]

Maybe you scared him. He did seem to run away pretty fast.

[He looks around. They seem to have attracted some attention, but hopefully not enough that they'll be noticed.]

[ Anders mislikes that smirk. He's seen it before. Generally it heralds trouble. ]

What, me? Volunteer? When have you known me to volunteer for anything?

... except killing darkspawn. I'll admit I volunteered for that. I thought it would involve more shooting lightning at things, less hiking. Certainly much less looting.

[ When they're looting, people have to carry the loot. On the other hand, all that looting's what funded the riches Solona is presently toting about. Anyhow the complaints are mostly for show; Anders has no difficulty whatsoever taking the gold off her hands. He's more muscular than the average Circle mage has any business being. ]

[ Ah, xenopolitics. York figured there had to be some tensions, especially with so many different kinds of aliens around. She nods, promptly. ]

Right, right. Avoid the batarians, got it.

And here I thought you enjoyed all the exercise! Hiking is not so very risky as swimming, after all.

[ she gives him an earnest smile when he takes the heavy purse off her. for all the banter, she has realized over the years that he is one of the best and most loyal friends she has made. ]

[ Anders affects a tone of alarm. ]

[ But he grins at Amell and lets the pretense drop just as readily. Her allusion to his infamous escape-by-swimming is taken as a compliment rather than complaint; though it would've been understandable for the other apprentices to resent the consequent loss of swimming sessions, Anders really didn't have their welfare in mind at the time. More interested in saving his own skin. When, inevitably, he was brought back to the Tower, the net effect had been an increase in notoriety and therefore popularity. ]

The feeling's mutual, you know. [ A pause for effect, then: ] Who wouldn't miss the smell of damp cat?

[He frowns and shakes his head, his arms raising to cross over his chest.]

SHIELD was hoping to avoid a fight with the Chitauri.

[ luckily for solona, all she'd missed out on by then was the recreational activity of swimming. her lessons had already been completed. she laughs some. ]

It's nice to know I've been missed. [ her eyebrows raise. ] My guess would be Oghren.

[ That gets a snort from Anders. ] Oghren's just jealous. No number of cats could get him the sort of attention I can get.

And what sort of attention would that be? The last I heard, you were one of the heroes of Vigil's Keep!

Could it be that the cat helps you earn more hero-worship?
