No. I was entering one of our shuttles, and suddenly I was on an alien shuttle bound here.

Sure you didn't just step on the wrong shuttle?

The shuttle that brought me here has about as much resemblance to an Oankali shuttle as it has to you or me. Oankali settlements and ships are alive.

Next you're gonna tell me they all have tentacles, too.

No. Why would they need tentacles? Most of the things they need to sense are electromagnetic radiation.
