Welcome to the outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.


Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.

That's what I'd like to know.

[she's not far away, arms folded and one hand held pensively to her chin, frowning at the empty landing pad. Shepard's tense, and is irritated to realize she didn't know what she really expected to find here. for all intents and purposes, she didn't even look like she was paying the slightest bit of attention to anyone else.

[he looks over at the voice and raises an eyebrow at the woman not far from him. she looks more than a little annoyed with the situation and while herb isn't exactly thrilled by it himself, he can tell she's a great deal more irritated than he is.

he nods to her question, reaching up to scratch at the back of his neck absently.] Afraid so. I was heading out on a mission with my squad and then- nothing. You?

Same.

[she waves a hand at the landing pad, as if to indicate to a certain shuttle...that isn't there.]

My squad, my crew, my ship... Normal procedure. Through the relay, and then...

[she spreads her hands with a shrug, then pinches the bridge of her nose with a sigh. after a moment, she shakes it off internally and turns for the first time, trying a grin.]

Alliance?

[multifrag]

[he nods to that, because that sounds incredibly familiar to him, and he's got to wonder just what the hell is happening. but there isn't enough information yet to make assumptions- he'll just have to keep thinking.

he manages to grin back at that, though.] Got it in one. Major Herb Pêtre, N7 Special Ops. [he extends a hand to her in introduction] You?

[the grin spreads, and she salutes.]

Major. [an acknowledging nod] I heard about you guys from Hackett; sounds like you're really doing incredible work out there.

[formalities over with, she extends a hand.]

Commander Raquel Shepard, N7.

[saluting probably would have been wise, given that he's speaking to commander fucking shepard but oh well. too late now.

for what it's worth, he does salute her once she introduces herself- but then promptly takes her hand and shakes it]

Glad to hear our efforts out there are worth it, ma'am. [he chuckles.] We don't get any details, but we know you're doing amazing things out there for all of us. It's a pleasure to meet you, Commander.
