Welcome to the outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.


Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.

[ There's no noise from her as she jerks away from the hand. She's not going to give anyone the satisfaction of hearing her scream or whimper, it's a big enough bruise on her pride that she's cowering like a bloody child instead of just getting on with whatever nightmare she's convinced is looming.

It's a wonder she doesn't just pull the trigger immediately, though she does turn the gun on this new woman. There's a deep, shaky inhale before she speaks and, despite her appearance and the way she's tensed, it comes out surprisingly even. ]

I don't think so.

[chose]

[maybe it's common sense to pull back, but...Shepard's not letting go. she just nods.]

Okay. I get that you're scared, but this station is full of mercs just waiting for an excuse to hurt somebody. I don't want that somebody to be you, but having a gun pointed at everybody kind of gives people the wrong idea. I won't take it from you, but if you put the gun down, I promise no one will hurt you. Especially not me.

[activating]

[ A moment of hesitation, the knuckle of her supporting hand going white as her grip tightens. But then both hands ease and her finger leaves the trigger, pointing the muzzle down towards the floor. She has no holster, nowhere to stash the gun but the pockets of her trousers. ]

Where the bloody hell am I supposed to be?

[chose]

You tell me.

[Shepard's smiling and visibly relaxed. she makes a mental note of where the gun is before continuing.]

I'm Commander Shepard of the Alliance Navy. I was on my ship headed somewhere...completely different. What about you? What's the last thing you remember?

[activating]

[ There's no hint of recognition at the name or the mention of the Alliance. In fact, she appears more perplexed by this new information than anything else. ]

I went to sleep.

[chose]

And then you were on the shuttle?

[activating]

Yes.

[ A pause, furrowing her brow. ]

What... year is this?

[chose]

[Shepard searches the woman's face for a moment, before a quiet:]
