TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the
outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.

Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.
φ Please give the name and canon of your character in the subject line! OCs and AUs are welcome.
φ You may use threads from this post as a log sample, so long as it has at least 5 of your comments in action tags or prose.
φ You can keep CR from this meme if both players agree to it OOCly, and so long as you keep interactions to these starting areas.
φ Apps open on 1/27; the game opens 2/2.
φ You can find more information on our setting here, and our navigation is here!

Raquel Shepard! ...with temporary default femshep since I don't have caps for mine yet /1stworldprob
it's hard not to be frustrated; angry, even. they had made the jump on the way to Cerberus, to the Illusive Man, and then...to the end? and here? here is where she ends up, without her ship, without her crew or squad, and apparently without any way of getting off the station. still with fleets from all the species waiting for her.
no pressure.
she wants to talk to Aria; for options, even hopefully for some answers, but she's lost in the damn residential sector, fuming slowly. but it's Shepard, right? so she doesn't stop for long, and is trying to puzzle her way out.]
no subject
but his hands had grabbed at her ass, and with a swift twist of the body and a flash of her own hand, there's a sickening crack and the stranger finds himself nursing a few broken fingers, staggering off to the shadows.
Isabela barely notices the fuming Shepard, too busy flexing her own fingers as she stares off to wherever that pervert went off to. so what she says is to herself, chuckling idly.]
Well the men here certainly are the same.
no subject
I missed the show. Did he deserve it?
no subject
but ah yes, fingers.]
Did him a favour, actually. I helped cure him of his wandering hand sickness.
[there's a quirk of a grin.]
Nasty disease, hear it spreads among men like syphilis in a brothel.
no subject
A brothel without proper antibiotics. Sounds about right for Omega.
no subject
though what are these antibiotics of which you speak. she hails from medieval Bioware land, after all. where teeth rot and magic is a thing instead of science.]
Sounds like I'll be right at home here. Are there any brothels?
no subject
[though...Shepard stops and gives Isabela a once over, frowning due to thinking this time:] You're not wasting any time. Is this your first trip to Omega?
no subject
she crosses her arms and shrugs, her expression neutral though her eyes continue to hold their usual playful glint, as though nothing's wrong.]
I've been a lot of places, but this is the first I've ever even heard of Omega. Still not quite sure how I got here, either.
no subject
hopefully.]
...Huh. Well. That makes two of us, on the last part. Where do you come from?
no subject
[because it's totally obvious she's a pirate. c'mon Shepard. there's a lithe chuckle.]
Kirkwall. That was the last slab of land I was on before I stepped foot on my ship and found myself brought here.
Idek where all this tl;dr came from, I apologize
Of course, that's not helping him now. His roommate and teammate is gone doing who knows what--probably seeing what he can take apart somewhere--and that leaves him with a problem.
The door.
He's standing outside in full Captain America regalia--minus the cowl and with his shield slung over his back--because some people can't afford shiny new, less stars and stripes looking armor. Yet. It's a thing he's working on. Right after he figures out the door. It's sliding harmlessly open and closed in front of him because it obviously senses him standing there. He can honestly say he never expected to be taunted by a door.
Steve is staring at it like he could just will it locked with his mind. Surprisingly, this method isn't working. What's wrong with just having a key? Why make it all fancy and electronic? It seems superfluous and pointless.
He catches sight of Shepard and determines from the uniform she might actually be from around here.]
Excuse me, Ma'am?
no i love it GIVE ME STEVE
she stops dead, actually looking at the clothing and giving the stranger a once over as she heads over.]
You look like you just got locked out of the USO show. [she doesn't mean it unkindly, just trying to break the ice.
pun not intended. OR IS IT.] Can I help?hehehe
He glances down at himself and back up.]
Not as far off as you think. [Have a small laugh and sheepish glance at the door. Which whooshes back open when he moves a little to look at it.] Yeah, how do you lock this thing.
no subject
Let me guess. No omni-tool.
[summoning her own into light, she sweeps it in front of the door, which ceases its incessant opening and closing, and makes the pleasing series of blips indicating it now being locked.]
You came off the shuttles, didn't you?
no subject
[He does have one. It glows to life on his arm after a moment. All the new arrivals showed up with them but Steve hasn't played with it too much. He scrutinizes what she does with a frown. These things lock doors too? Is there anything they don't do?]
Yeah, I did. Along with a member of my team.
[Who for some reason he's actually living with.]
no subject
[nodding at the omni-tool]
That's the one. It might take a little getting used to; it's...more or less intuitive.
[she shrugs, smiling in a way that just says 'SIGH technology, right?']
If you want, we could get a drink and I'll show you a few pointers.
no subject
[Well, now he knows what the thing is called. He'll have to actually figure out how to use it properly.]
Appreciate it, I haven't toyed with it yet. I've never been big on technology.
[Sigh technology indeed. He'll shrug in return and then he smiles, nodding. He might not be able to get drunk but he can still enjoy himself with some companionship.]
That sounds great. Anything to get out of here for awhile.
no subject
It's always easier being thrown in a weird situation with a friend. Speaking of which- [without stopping, she offers her hand] -I'm Commander Shepard. Welcome to Omega.
no subject
[He sighs but Steve does follow her as she heads out. So far she's been friendlier than most of the actual inhabitants of this universe. He's still working off the hypothesis she belongs here more than the rest of them do.
He takes her hand--his grip firm and steady.]
Captain Steve Rogers, I appreciate the welcome.
no subject
[she grins at the introduction because she's getting a good feeling about this guy. reminds her a bit of Kaidan.]
Captain. Who're you with, Marines?
no subject
[The Commandos had just fallen into place naturally but the Avengers is an entirely different ball-game.]
I was with army--107th infantry. We were on the ground in World War II. I was recruited through a special program so I technically work with a different division.
no subject
[her steps falter for a second as she tries not to show how shocked she is]
"Was"?
no subject
[Like seventy years give or take.]
I don't believe the 107th exists as anything but a support group now. I couldn't say for sure. I'm a little behind the times. It's... complicated.
