[ York's slowly familiarizing herself with the environment -- it's all new to her, too, but it's hard not to notice the girl yelling at the computer terminal. York knows she's not the only one here who's kinda lost, but she hasn't been too worried. She's got a combat armor and a gun.

Still, she can't resist sidling up next to Maeby, raising an eyebrow as she looks down at the terminal over Maeby's shoulder. At least York's familiar with the tech level around here. ]

Y'know, I don't think these things respond all that well to verbal abuse. Must be one of the older models.

Yeah. I may as well be trying to get some freaking emoting from Keanu Ree-

[It was then that Maeby glanced up and over at the voice that had appeared behind her- and immediately took a laaaaarge side step away. From the armor. And the guns. How was this even happening to her? Time to put hands up in a nice, innocent gesture of 'please, I'm too beautiful to be murdered while I'm still a virgin.']

Uh. I didn't do it?

[ York actually laughs at that, because somehow Maeby's immediate jump to her own defense is a little familiar. York waves a hand, shaking her head. ]

I'm not lookin' to get you into trouble, kiddo. You look a little lost, though. Not in Kansas anymore?

[Okay. Mechanical overlord appeased for now. She lowered her hands, accompanied by a sharp raise of one eyebrow. Okay. A chance to maybe figure out this armor fetish thing going on here.]

Hey, it comes with movie references. Cool. And, yeah. We passed Kansas about ten freak outs ago.

Well, you're definitely not alone there. This isn't exactly my Kansas, either. And this isn't even the first time it's happened. Gettin' real tired of being zapped around to different universes.

[ Maeby is sassy. York likes that. She offers a rueful grin, shrugging one shoulder. ]

Anyway, I'm York. You got a name, kiddo?

[Oh, yeah. The fact her name sounds like 'maybe' comes with a small smirk. And, now, time to try the time that always manages to fool the self-absorbed and idiotic]
