Welcome to the outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.


Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.

[She was LOUD and small and kinda pathetic and hungry and LOUD... Grumbling, Starscream began to go in for a landing. Repair work gave him some funds, and the only real necessity he had for that was Aria's fee, there was nothing edible on-station for him to purchase, so he did have a little to spare. And that gold...what was she doing with gold? There probably was no real economic worth to it here, but perhaps he could investigate its chemistry and such if he ever had the proper equipment for it. He transformed, feet hitting the ground.]

Give me one gold piece, and I'll pay for your food.

[Short, straight to the point, there was no point for easing into things in this context.]

[ Whoa whoa whoa!! What is this thing? Lina's seen golems before, but...never anything quite like this. She looks like she's been caught off guard, staggering back a few steps. ]

Uh -- what the hell are you?

[distortedscream]

One of the rude humans, aren't you?

[Peers curiously at her, considering.]

You are human, aren't you? You resemble one, but appearances can be deceiving. [For one thing, her dress didn't look like the majority he'd seen on Earth. If anything, it looked historical.]

[Back to actually answering her.... He examines his claws, voice vaguely bored.]

What do you think I am?

[Her style of dress did look historical...historically predating the human concept of 'robots' even. Probably made more sense to get an idea of her own terminology first, figure out how to explain himself in terms she'd understand best.]

Uh...some kind of golem, I guess?

[ Most golems don't talk, though. And it looks...awfully sleek and well put together for any old golem. Lina gives him a baffled look, scratching her head, and then scowls. ]

Of course I'm human! What do I look like to you?!

[distortedscream]

[Goes over data on Earth. 'Golem: 1.

Made sense, except for the second option (though Knock Out would probably say that fit Starscream in particular).]

That is one way of putting it, though I was born, not made. [Gives a shrug.] Last place I was in that was populated by humans, their popular term was 'robot.'

[Yep, still loud. Starting to really grate.]

Outdated. [What was with her form of dress? Was time travel involved too, along with interdimensional travel?]

Robot? Never heard of it.

[ Maybe it's just another word for golem. Lina would like to ask more, she honestly would, but -- that remark about her appearance makes her give the robot an unimpressed look. ]

[Starscream shrugs.]

The last place I was in that had a significant human population dressed differently. I only saw your sort of outfit in their historical fiction.
