[ She digs them out from underneath her shirt, pulling them up over her head and dangling them out in offering to Tex, one eye cocked. ]

I get it, it's weird, so I've just got two words for you: alternate timelines.

[ tex actually takes hold of the dogtags, pulling them forward a little to examine them. she could have just lifted them off the real york -

Like shit, that's how. C'mon, you remember -- I was just trynna give you a hand, but you weren't havin' any of it. And then that big brutish asshole chucked a grenade a little too close to my face.

[ She smooths her hand over her intact left eye, out of habit. ]

'Course, and here's where it gets unbelievable, but I got that thing fixed on the last wacky space station I was trapped on. But hey, keep the questions comin', Tex. I got your answers.

[ okay, that's definitely something York was present for that Tex participated in recently. her arms are still folded though, her posture still clearly disbelieving. ]

No. Either you are York, for some reason sporting a set of breasts, which explains a lot, or you're a really ballsy imposter who's not going to get anything from me.

[ her way of saying she still doesn't entirely trust her. ]

Uh, the short version? For some big cosmic reason nobody goddamn understands, you got yanked here from your timeline, your universe, into this one, along with a bunch of other unlucky sons of bitches, yours truly included. Now we're all kinda stuck here, visitors in somebody else's universe, trynna get by.
