TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the [community profile] outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.

Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.

φ Please give the name and canon of your character in the subject line! OCs (including Mass Effect OCs) and AUs are welcome.
φ You may use threads from this post as a log sample, so long as it has at least 5 of your comments in action tags or prose.
φ If you app in later, you can keep CR from this meme if both players agree to it OOCly, and so long as you keep interactions to these starting areas.
φ Apps and reserves and are always open! Our next processing round runs from 4/20 through 4/26.
φ You can find more information on our setting here, and our navigation is here!

Passing by the landing zone every day in the hopes of seeing someone he recognized was a hope Kengo had given up on a long time ago. After all, by now he had been on Omega for two months with only one familiar arrival. While he had met up with Ryusei, it was difficult to spend so much time watching the shuttles and waiting for another familiar face. All he could do was check the network and keep word going that he was looking for certain people. By now, he'd given up almost all hope of seeing Gentarou again. There had been no more news of the dead returning to life, other than the initial message he'd heard shortly after arriving. Maybe that had been a lie, but Ryusei had been taken from a time separate from him. ... maybe he would be lucky enough for something like that to happen, but he doubted it.

Today happened to be one of the days where he passed through the landing zone on his way home from work, feeling even more tired than usual. The events of the last few weeks were really taking their toll on him. There was too much to think about or worry about. All he wanted to do anymore was sleep and avoid dealing with it, but it was something he knew he couldn't do.

Kengo kept one hand in his pocket as he walked, head down and watching the ground. The only thing that snapped him out of it was when he heard the all-too-familiar exclamation, his attention immediately snapping to the direction of the voice. No... He had to have imagined it...

Except... the source of the voice was standing a few yards away, the appearance so familiar that it made Kengo's stomach twist. It couldn't be real. This couldn't be happening. As much as he'd wanted to see him again -- how much he'd tried to keep his hope alive since arriving -- Kengo had no idea how he was going to deal with finally seeing his friend again.

"Kisaragi..." Kengo could already feel his body shaking, tears in his eyes. It had to be a lie. He'd seen his friend die, held his body and felt how cold he was. This had to be some sort of trick... But he couldn't even move to approach the other yet, his mind still trying to process what was going on.

So entranced by the scenery outside, Gentarou hadn't heard the other student. The glass between him and the black was chilled, and his breath created a fog on the surface obscuring the mirror. He remained transfixed for several moments more before slowly taking a step back, reality setting in.

'But if that's there... where am I?' Without a doubt he had been outside of Amanogawa minutes before. How could he be in space now? Or had he only dreamed he had gone to school and was actually still in bed? Frowning in thought, Gentarou pushed himself away from the window, turning around and taking in the sights for the first time.

His jaw dropped, openly gaping at the scene before him. Creatures he had never imagined were walking only a few feet from him. Humans were there as well, but fewer in number. There were so many different varieties, shapes and sizes he was nearly overwhelmed.

And then he saw him. Standing a short distance away was a somewhat familiar form, clad in an Amanogawa school uniform. Bringing the soggy letter up in front of his eyes again, Gentarou checked the name.

Utahoshi Kengo

Smiling to himself, Gentarou took the few steps required to bring him in front of the other student. Once in place, he took no time in forcing the letter into the other boy's hands. "You shouldn't throw someone's heart away like that, Kengo."
