Welcome to the outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.


Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.

[Starscream ignores the miniscule flicker of surprise on the human's face. Crosses his arms over his chest at the question.]

Seems like all newcomers are allowed accommodations in the Zeta district, as long as they help repair it. Bit of a mess, to put it lightly.

[ Now Loki plays the part of a confused traveller. It's easy enough to affect confusion, to state things he's already pieced together. ]

This isn't Zeta, then? [ And now, masked, the real question, ] Where is it? I can't say I'm much a hand with a hammer, but I could make myself useful.

[ He has no money, not yet, so he knows other accomodations are likely above him. He hates being beneath anyone, but oh, needs must. ]

You'll know Zeta when you begin to wonder if it's even fit for habitation. [Dryly said. Then voice returns to normal.]

I can take you there. The station may expect newcomers to contribute rather immediately, but they can tolerate one night's rest. Weary wanderers are entitled to such a thing, are they not?

[Frowns a bit as he really focuses on the stranger's worn state.] I am no medic, but perhaps one could be found in Zeta, if you require one.

How specific. [ Loki's voice is an arid desert, to put it mildly. ]

Mm. I imagine my stay would be immediately dependent on my working the next day, which isn't a problem. Could you show me the way?

[ The question about his wounds is waved off. ] I've had worse, they'll be gone soon enough.

...now I kinda want Loki and MirrorScream to be roomies XD

Very well, follow me. [If he were his correct size, Starscream would've changed into jet mode and take the stranger as a passenger to save time. As it was, they would definitely have to go on foot.]

[Starscream turns, then calls over his shoulder.]

If it's not too much, may I have a name to address you with?

[ Loki follows Starscream when he starts to walk, and the question about his name makes his mind race, although he gives no sign of it outwardly. He's not seen Thor, but the eyes and ears of Odin are everywhere, so it pays to be careful. ]

The name is Jacob, [ He says with a small, gracious smile, ] And yourself?

[distortedscream]

Starscream.

[Passing a market stall with alien fruit, the thought occurs to him.]

Do you require food right now?

[Not like Starscream could consume any of the stuff.]

Interesting name. Does it mean anything of significance?

[ Loki asks it with genuine curiosity, and when they stop near the stall, Loki's eyes pass it over. he doesn't need the food, but it would help him heal faster. ]

I haven't any currency to my name, at the moment. I'd hate to be in your debt.

[ But yes, he could have it, if Starscream wants to buy it. ]

Other than generally fitting with my people's language--[Starscream recognizes 'Jacob' as an Earth name, English if he understood correctly, and that the translation of his own name could be seen as odd sometimes]--I'm afraid I don't know of any great story behind it. At first I thought it was to match with the rest of my trine, our middle one's name also started with 'S', but our oldest's name started with a 'T' instead.

[And Starscream's reminded of his trine, a sore topic. To the pit with his rambling tongue. He seizes on Jacob's statement about debt as a change in topic.]

There's not much that's edible for me here, so I have somewhat of a surplus in my funds.

[Starscream gestures to the food stalls again.]
