Yeah, I don't think these are just props.

[ he notices that she's looking somewhat overwhelmed and while he's not exactly a bastion of stoicism and calm himself, he hopes that knowing that someone else is in the same situation might help ease her anxiety. ]

[ ok chuck has always been more of a sci-fi guy so he's not quite as well-versed in dragonlore, dragon physiology, dragon anything as he should be given that there is an actual dragon, a pissed off actual dragon steaming past him. but wow does she ever clear a nice path through the crowd. ]

The idea of people from different times being brought together in one place was far too ridiculous of an idea for even her to comprehend right now, so she just figured he was from a really technologically backwards place.]

[ actually when Aoi ducks as chuck (and some unnervingly tentacled aliens) walks past, chuck ends up ducking too. a reflex from having been repeatedly put in situations where if someone ducks, it's probably because there's a knife, a bullet or a remote-controlled helicopter of some kind heading their way. ]

And from your appearance, I assume you're from somewhere in Asia -- heeheehee -- but I don't know much about what goes on there; none of the major PMCs had any business over there. I don't know what "tribesmen" you speak of -- haha -- but I wasn't one of them.

Hah! Talking can only get you so far! Girl, you will find that most bandits do not care for virtue and honour; it is gold that serves as a lure for them. Trust me when I say there is no misunderstanding involved here. It would save you both time, effort and your life. Furthermore, you are a woman. I'll give that you've got a pretty face. [ there are plenty of displaced thedosians about the omega market today. solona has around 100 sovereigns, but so far no one will seem to accept them. gold pieces. solid gold. she has taken a break from trying to get information out of the wrong places. ]

[ the right places are probably more out-of-the-way, she reasons. if this had been the denerim market, she would have known how better to handle it. nothing to do then but to gain her bearings a.s.a.p. in order to change that around! she wanders around for some time, noticing more and more familiarly dressed humans among the colorful assortment of aliens. at least she's not alone. ]

[ her eye catches on a confused-looking older man, and immediately she is truck with some thing. empathy? sympathy? or both. solona adjusts the weight of her weapons by rolling her shoulders and crosses the distance until she is standing close enough to talk. she tilts her head to one side, as if to peek at his face. ]

It's a lot to take in, isn't it? I feel like a dull patch of seaweed amidst a sea of colorful fish.

[ She groans and rolls her eyes, clenching her jaw. Great. This is the last thing she needs, really. Valca is going to kick her ass and Bob is just going to mock her until she dies. She doesn't even remember clearly how she got there. She's pretty sure last time she blinked she was putting on the gear to get some pirate shit done. Not anywhere near Omega, she would add. ]

[ Keelan knows Omega, it's a very usual resting spot for her and the pirate crew, Magpie (the captain) likes it enough and there's little government so they can rest - though not lower their guard. You should never lower your guard on Omega.

[ The war's a pretty sobering topic, though, and Zoe's been doing her best not to dwell on it. When your day job is fighting the front lines of a galactic war, sometimes you need a break.

[After the handshake, his hand is back to the bag but more casually, obviously being around Captain Freaking America calms him down a hair.]

[ Okay, so he's lost and confused. Zoe's not sure what to make of this guy, but she supposes that people on Omega are different, what with the whole merc thing.

There's only one way she can interpret the way he reaches up for his head, though. Zoe tips her head at him, faint concern on her brow. ]
