You speak and act like a noble; it's quaint, at the right place and the right time, but this is neither and you are going to find yourself in a world of pain if you do not take care with how you speak.

I can't change how I speak, and even if I could I would not. It is most important for a person to act noble when it is difficult to do so.

[because if someone will only act noble when it's easy for them, then what good are they to anyone? Especially the people that they should be protecting? Uncle would never condone such behavior]

Talk to them, of course. If this is some sort of misunderstanding then we will sort it out and leave this place. And if they cannot be persuaded, we'll have to find some other agreement.

I've only read the first four books, unfortunately. Still, it's nice to see Sandry here!

Hah! Talking can only get you so far! Girl, you will find that most bandits do not care for virtue and honour; it is gold that serves as a lure for them. Trust me when I say there is no misunderstanding involved here. It would save you both time, effort and your life. Furthermore, you are a woman. I'll give that you've got a pretty face. Exactly what do you think will happen when you walk into a den of low-life scum? Do you think they will let you leave with your honour intact, even if you promised enough gold to raise an army?

This is the reality of this place girl. I have been here less than a day and I can already see that this is the kind of sewer that only criminals and those of ill repute would choose to call home. Speak to them of high values, if you wish. I can promise that they will fall on deaf ears.
