Welcome to the
outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.

Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.
φ Please give the name and canon of your character in the subject line! OCs and AUs are welcome.
φ You may use threads from this post as a log sample, so long as it has at least 5 of your comments in action tags or prose.
φ You can keep CR from this meme if both players agree to it OOCly, and so long as you keep interactions to these starting areas.
φ Apps open on 1/27; the game opens 2/2.
φ You can find more information on our setting here, and our navigation is here!

Grif | Red vs Blue
It hadn't occurred to Grif that none of the other bar patrons cared, and that the few who hadn't tuned him out were reasonably sure there was something very wrong with him. But really, the complaining wasn't for them. He was honestly scared, and bitching about things was sort of soothing. It was normal, and when you found yourself in a place that was overflowing with weird aliens you were (apparently) not supposed to shoot, anything normal was worth clinging to.
"So then the ship blows up and I guess... I don't know, I thought all the stupid crap would be over and I could go back to taking naps and not caring about things. But nooo, now I'm here."
...God he wanted a drink. But even if he had money, he suspected that none of these rubber-foreheaded assholes would take good old cash.

Shepard's at the end of the bar, and despite her disinterest in them, is being given a decent berth by the rest of the patrons - who remember her a little too well from previous encounters.
She hadn't been listening, really. Just nursing an ice brandy, wondering where Chakwas and the rest of the Normandy was about now, then- What kind of comment is that with the Reapers around?
She gives the soldier a once-over, brow furrowed from being unable to place his armor. "...Where were you posted?"

He would conveniently forget the fact that plenty of the stupid-army-things that were so vivid in his memory were also partially his fault.
"It's like... okay war is hell and all, but I don't know if this was hell so much as being slowly annoyed-slash-bored to death? There wasn't nearly enough fire."
no subject
"Haven't you been watching the vids? 'Hell' is an understatement. The whole galaxy's fighting to survive and you're just going to sit here, moaning about how you're bored?"
She purposely gives him a slow once-over.
"When did you enlist? A month ago? Less? You haven't seen a Reaper up close, have you? You wouldn't be saying any of this otherwise."
no subject
"I just got here, okay? I've been stuck in a box canyon in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of assholes for three years. What the hell is a Reaper?"
no subject
And yes, there is Sarge, stuck in this place right along with his most favorite person in the whole wide galaxy.
"....where are we, anyway."
no subject
Not that he didn't already have his suspicions.
Of all the people to show up.
"How should I know?" he shrugged and gestured at all the aliens. Sure there were humans, but it was mostly the aliens that were a problem.
"Besides, I don't think any answer I could possibly give you would make you happy."
Grif is less concerned for Sarge's happiness and more for how much general berating he can avoid.

"'Cuz you're at the bar! Don't you know all the things you can learn when you're at a bar? Like how to pick up hookers with nothin' but your thumb and forefinger! Or drinkin' your drink backwards with your visor still on."
The important things, clearly.
"Now I know I don't expect much out of you, Grif, but even I would expect you to understand the menial things about learning where you are and how you got here!"
