[north is familiar with finding himself in all kinds of situations - with the project, that's just how it goes, after all - but for some reason, this is a little weirder than he ever thought he'd see.

especially given the fact that he's currently staring at the elcor bouncer just outside of afterlife like he's never seen one before. (which, he hasn't, but .. that kind of goes without saying, doesn't it?)

it's only when he hears it speak to an annoyed patron wanting to get into the club that he finally steps forward a little more, still not within speaking range, but he just can't take his eyes off of the thing for longer than it takes to blink.

in the back of his mind, theta is just as baffled as he is. north .. what is it?]

Hope it's cool that I assume North is in armor here.

[The Chief sees the MJLONIR armor - indistinguishable as far as he's concerned, and a reasonable approximation of relief hits him. Somebody else from the UNSC is here and it's another Spartan. Good. As he walks closer, however, the relief quickly becomes shortlived. He remembered all the armor permutations of the Spartan-IIs. He didn't recognize this one. Was it a Spartan-IV? He was under the impression that by their standards, the Mark-VI was...outdated, but, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility.

By the time he approaches North from behind, he just wants an answer. He raises a hand and lightly grabs his shoulder to get his attention.]

Soldier.

it's fine! and i'm sorry i didn't see this last night. because *chief*.

[he isn't expecting anyone to call him out, here - which is why he turns to chief with what would be a briefly befuddled expression if it weren't for the fact that he's still wearing his helmet. elcor forgotten in lieu of staring up at the man before him, he stays quiet for a moment, trying to formulate a response.

he knows everyone in the project. he knows almost everyone associated with it in any capacity - but he doesn't know this man.

theta stays quiet for the moment, more than a little wary at chief's sudden presence, and for that, north is more than a little grateful.] .. Yes?
