Welcome to the outsiders test drive meme! You can use this post to tag with characters you're interested in bringing to the game or who you'd like to try out in the setting.


Please set all threads in one of three areas: the landing zone, where your character get off the shuttle upon arrival; the markets, where your character might run into any of the station's alien population; or in the residential district they'll be staying in.

[ you know, he's never been to Omega before.

... and deep inside, Kaidan's wishing it had stayed that way. The jump had gone a little differently than usual, but the Normandy was one of those ships where the unexpected had become distressingly routine. (Most surprises didn't involve the ship vanishing entirely, but he didn't want to be overly pessimistic.)

It's just another routine mission.

But even as he says it to himself, he's not entirely convinced. No crew, No Shepard, and nothing resembling the vaguest semblance of Council or Alliance presence, besides himself. He tries to ignore the rather obvious stares and whispers as he finishes some rather pointless shopping; modifications for guns he'll never use, an omnitool upgrade he's 80% sure shouldn't exist outside Alliance intranet— all in an attempt to warm the shopkeeper up enough to warm the shopkeeper up.

He knows he's being played, but he's patient. Sooner or later something would slip. ]

Just here on shore leave. I got separated from my group earlier— you eh, haven't seem them, have you?

[ he asks casually as he hands over his credits, only to receive a noncommittal grunt in return. Kaidan isn't entirely worried, but something in the back of his mind tells him he'll run out of credits before he will questions. ]

[a clap on the shoulder is all the warning Kaidan gets before a relieved and friendly voice:]

Marsh isn't a chatty kind of guy, Kaidan. You'd have better luck somewhere else.

[oldsoldiers]

[ Kaidan tenses imperceptibly at the touch— ready for a fight in case it came— until he hears the voice that accompanies it. ]

You know, I think I'm starting to see that.

[ he keeps his voice casual, almost as if they're discussing nothing more serious than the weather. it's easy to hear the smile in tone, even before he turns fully to face Shepard ]

I was beginning to worry, Commander.

[chose]

You and me both.

[her own light tone is gone, and she sighs as she waves at Marsh, who grunts and moves off, and leans against the store counter.]

But at least you're in one piece. Another few minutes and that prophet might've got you. [she's grinning, but the shifting of her weight against the counter belies how restless she's really feeling.]

So you haven't seen anyone else yet?

[oldsoldiers]

The Batarian? Wait— don't tell me being called a 'blight on galactic purity' isn't his way of making friends.

[ his mouth twitches as he holds back a smile; it's a terrible time to crack a joke, but he can't help it. ]

You're the first so far; I considered checking Afterlife for Joker and the rest, but I thought I might have better luck out here. Guess my gut instinct was right.
